China: Labour Day holiday extended by two days

In an official Central Government announcement the Labour Day holiday on May 1st 2019 has been extended with Thursday May 2nd and Friday May 3rd becoming public holidays.

To compensate for the days off, people will have to work on April 28th and May 5th, both Sundays.

The Central Government’s announcement concludes by encouraging regional governments to "take effective measures" to ensure that transportation facilities are up to snuff, encourage tourism services and ensure citizens enjoy a peaceful holiday, among other actions.
