Oman: Eid al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice is the most important feast in the Muslim calendar. It celebrates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael in submission to Allah's command, before he was stopped by Allah.

Friday and Saturday are the weekend for both public and private sectors
Under the Labor Code, Chapter 2 Article 65, all employees are entitled to a paid day off for nationally recognised holidays. If the employee cannot take the day off, they must be paid their regular rate of pay plus 25 per cent, or given a different day off with pay.
