On August 26th 2022, the Minister of Labor announced, in accordance with Article 66 of the Labor Code, that public sector workers will enjoy a holiday with paid salary starting on Friday September 9th 2022 at the end of the regular workday until Sunday September 18th, and will return to their regular work on Monday, September 19th.
The same decree establishes that September 14th and 15th are national holidays in Nicaragua and that both days are mandatory with the right to rest and paid salary for all workers in the country.
