The Karnali state government marks the 4th of Bhadau every year in the Nepali calendar as the State Establishment and Martyrs' Day.    

Karnali Pradesh is the largest of the seven federal provinces of Nepal. It was formed by the new constitution which was adopted on September 20th 2015.

Four people had attained martyrdom participating in the movement for the establishment of the Karnali State between mid-July and mid-September 2015.

They were Yam Bahadur BC, tikaram Gautam and Gopal Singh Rajwar of Surkhet and Hari Bahadur Kunwar of Jumla.    

The then government had announced the four persons killed in course of the movement as martyrs and the movement was concluded after the demand of the establishment of a separate province was fulfilled.
