The Nepalese government has declared public holidays on October 5th and 6th 2025 (Sunday and Monday) due to unfavorable weather engulfing the nation currently.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notice today stating that the holidays have been announced considering the risks of floods, inundation, and landslides due to continuous rainfall, along with the possibility of disruption in road and air transport and potential human casualties.
Based on information received from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the ministry said heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in different parts of the country from October 4 to October 6. It also requested people to remain alert as rainfall is already occurring in several areas.
