A public holiday for all three federal territories in celebration of KL City winning the Malaysia Cup.

Friday December 3rd 2021 has been declared a public holiday for all three federal territories in celebration of KL City winning the Malaysia Cup.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim in a statement said the additional public holiday was made according to Sub-section 9(2) of the Public Holidays Act 1951 for the federal territories.

"In conjunction with the victory of the 100th Malaysia Cup for KL City FC last night, which also ended a 32-year wait for the Kuala Lumpur team, I am pleased to announce an additional public holiday for the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan on this Friday, 3 December 2021," the Minister wrote.

The public holiday covers Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

On Tuesday November 30th 2021, KL City ended their 32-year drought in the Malaysia Cup, defeating Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) 2-0 in a thrilling final held at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

KL City FC’s goals came from midfielder Zhafri Yahya in the 66th minute and team captain Paulo Josue (74th minute), propelling the City Boys to a well-deserved victory.
