The Argentine Government has confirmed that November 9th 2026 will be a National Holiday for the visit of Pope Leo XIV.
The arrival of Pope Leo XIV in Argentina from November 8th to 11th, during which he will visit Buenos Aires, Luján, and the province of Córdoba, will bring a change to the calendar for the penultimate month of the year.
The government has confirmed that Monday, November 9th, will be a national holiday, on the occasion of the holy mass in front of the Monument to the Spanish, in the City of Buenos Aires.
November 10th and 11th will be public holidays in Luján and Córdoba when the Pope visits those regions.
The decision was announced after a meeting led by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the Minister of National Security, Alejandra Monteoliva, along with representatives of the Argentine Episcopal Conference and authorities from the jurisdictions involved in the papal tour.
