Kelantan is a rural state, located in the north-west of Malaysia. The Sultan of Kelantan is the constitutional head of state.
The current sultan, Muhammad V, is the 29th Sultan of Kelantan. He is the Head of Islam in the state and the source of all titles, honours and dignities of its people.
The Sultan was born on October 6th 1969. The dates of this public holiday are honorific and do not change with each new Sultan.
