Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati made a statement on his Twitter account before the 2nd anniversary of the port explosion.

Lebanese Prime Minister stated that they declared August 4 as a national holiday across the country in solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic port explosion and those who were injured.

On August 4th 2020, a fire broke out in a warehouse containing explosives in the Port of Beirut, and then a very powerful explosion occurred that shook the entire city.

It was announced that approximately 200 people died in the explosion, more than 6 thousand people were injured and 300,000 people were displaced due to the explosion.
