Anant Chaturdashi takes place 10 days after Ganesh Chaturthi.
Ganesh Nimajjanam (immersion) is a large procession with devotees carrying gigantic idols of Lord Ganesha through the streets to be immersed in the river. The parade is watched by thousands of onlookers.
All government offices, schools and colleges will remain closed.
