International: Eid Al-Adha. Eid al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice is the most important feast in the Muslim calendar. It celebrates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael in submission to Allah's command, before he was stopped by Allah.

Regional

India (regional): Thiruvonam. Thiruvonam is the second public holiday and principal day of Onam, a major Hindu harvest festival in Kerala.

North Korea: Day of Songun. A holiday established in 2013 to mark Kim Jong-il's inspection visit to the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Armored Division of the Korean People's Army on August 25, 1960, regarded as the start of the Songun revolutionary leadership by the North Korean government.

Sri Lanka: Nikini Full Moon Poya. Marks the retreat of the Bhikkhus following the Buddha's death, commemorated by a period of fasting and of retreat for the monastic communities
