International: Emancipation Day. Marks the end of Slavery across the British Empire on August 1st 1834

Barbados: Emancipation Day. Slavery was finally abolished throughout the British Empire by the Slavery Abolition Act 1833, which came into effect on 1 August 1834

DR Congo: Parents' Day. A public holiday to honour the role of Mothers and Fathers in Congolese society
